Sailing Angles’ designs and innovations have been used in every Olympic battle since Korea in 1984. The astute and fine-tuned Olympic sailors have been quick to pick up on the functionality, utility and uniqueness of our gear. Flexibility and protective options has been one of the key features in our company success with those who seek Gold in the Ultimate Wind War, the Olympic challenges.
We were proud to be part of gear used by the US Soling Medallist in Korea in 1984, as this was the first Olympic Games after our US debut. The word spread as did our product line grow and soon sailors from several different countries were wearing our gear in Barcelona. Again one of our products was a major part of the sailing gear of the silver medallist on the Tornado as he crossed the line. By the time the Savannah Games arrived and concluded, sailors from over 30 countries were wearing our product paying full list price (meaning unsponsored freebies). Many sailors even shed their sponsored free clothing and paid for ours designs because they, like we at Sailing Angles, were intensely focused on performance. This is an extremely flattering position. The cover of the US magazine Sailing World in Oct of that year shows three boats in battle, the bronze medallist, silver medallist and Gold Medallist. Each of the three crew members in each boat, were all wearing Sailing Angles apparel. This was an unsponsored and unparalleled experience for any apparel company in the world! See accompanying insert. Sailing Angles continues to provide Olympic sailors with innovations and ways of sailing more comfortably, using more articulate designs and fabrics. And comfort means you can focus unencumbered on your most important trophy, the next one, whether you are going to the Games in Qingdao, China or the Wednesday night beer can race at home. * As you cruise through our site, check out the products marked with the * . Asterisks signify products that have been worn during a medalling performance at the Olympics Buy them, sail hard, and win! You deserve it! |
