Sailing Angles' Droop Hiking Suits are designed to protect the entire back side of your body from the buttocks, thighs, back-of-the-knee-tendons, and calves to the ankles. They do this with a 5-6mm nylon-laminated Neoprene... a perfect abrasion protector. The Droop Hiking Suits also offer great slideability for the super-sensitive hiker that is in and out of the boat continually. The front and upper back of these special garments are either 10 oz. pro-football weight Lycra or the warmer Hydroknit. Use these suits in Finns, Europes, Solings, Stars, Catamarans, Lightnings, Snipes, and Mumm 30's.
Our Droop Hiking Tights offer, buttocks, thigh, and uniquely, back-of-the-knee protection. Where as the Droop Hiking suit offers padding to the back of the ankle, The Droop hiking Tights offers 3mm padding through the back of the knee and terminates on the upper calf. We use a lighter 3mm neoprene instead of the 5 mm neoprene on the Classice Droop Hiking Suit. You may also order double, interior thigh pads as well which also come with batten options. This is a great summer piece as it is lighter, more flexible that our classic Droop Hiking suit, and consequently cooler.
Droop Hiking Tights feature a intergrated 3mm buttocks, thigh and back-of-the-knee pad on a tuff, breathable, Lycra tight . Knee pads are also included. its a great summer outer piece or a great under piece as the weather gets fresh and lively. The Droop Hiking Tight is the grown up version of our Opti Pro(tm) hikers.
Double, interior thigh pads are also an option. These double thight pads can accept batten pockets (purchased separately) or more protective foam inserts if you prefer to stay lighter and more flexible, In the picture below you can see an inside out pair of shorts with double thigh pads and the optional batten pockets on the side. Each of the interior double thigh pockets have velcro receivers to hold and lock in the batten pockets if choosen as an option. The double thigh pads are a must have for those str8 leg hikers.
