Rowing Across the Ocean this season? A band of merry men approached Sailing Angles last year to develop some clothes which would help them in their rowing race across the Atlantic. They were taking the southern trade wind route (the Canary’s to the Caribbean) and would need to dress accordingly. UV protection, high breathablitity, butt pads. Storage and weight issues were also major considerations, as with any performance boats, regardless of their power source. Cool breezy nights are ever present at sea in the North East Trades. Maintaining , body core warmth would be essential during the breezy nights. Sailing Angles agreed to develop a line of clothing for them . For UV and breath-ability concerns ,we turned to our special Lycra knits to form the base fabric for their garments. With UV 50 + and weighting 6-8 oz @ yard we developed tights, shorts, long sleeve high collared shirts, and double seated shorts and tights for The Big Row. In addition we designed some Right Track Bags which would permit easy access storage in their small sleeping compartments for their personal items. Each member was issued a pair of Sailing Angles Kontrol gloves as well. Please review the products below. The soft but very durable rubber, non-skid soles will permit you to walk over rocks, coral, glass, hot asphalt as if you were barefoot while fully protecting your foot's sole. Our unique spandex knit offers you high breathablility yet are inherently UV protective. You will enjoy its coolness, support and moisture mangement qualities. These tights work great for the active rower/paddler who wants to be UV protected yet wants coolness, and high breathablitlity. Each tight has a 3mm laminated double seat to offer you just enough cushioning to be comfortable yet permits you complete flexibility for those power thrusts and pulls you need to get through those waves. These Rowing Tights are so ultimately comfortable for the consumate rower who likes a breathable, mositure moving fabric with two protective pads, a 3mm butt pad and track burn pads for the calves. In this picture, the double padded seat is sewn inside the tight. For durability however, we recommend the pad sewn on the exterior for better chafe protection.
We continue the use of the UV blocking, rugged, durable, football-weight lycra offering greater longetivity in use.

The 3mm low profile butt pad will make a long day of rowing/training or racing much more comforting permiting you to concentrate on the pull, the grip, the posture, the team unity and the win.
